Best Browser...?
Currently using Mozilla Firefox but a whole load of popups seem to be getting through recently. It also seems to be a bit laggy in loading pages sometimes as well. Anything better than MF out there?

You can try Opera.
I haven't gotten any troubles with FireFox, no popups or lag.

I use a program called Popup Killer in conjuntion with FireFox. It closes web pages based on the page title. Usually the offending site is in the title like referalware.com or tribalfusion.com. You can download it here:

Firefox by far. Go to http://www.pierceive.com/filtersetg/ and download the latest filters for Adblock, it'll go a long way towards keeping out junk.

sounds like you don't have it configured correctly and/or don't have the latest version and/or need to do spyware/virus scan. i can't remember the last time i saw a pop-up ad.

Maybe you could give us a link to a site you go to that gives you popups and we'll see if we get 'em too?
I mean, if that's all you are worried about. If you are just looking for a new browser in general, then that won't be much use I guess.

It turns out that some clever people figured out that you could launch popups from Flash, getting around the Firefox default settings.
Fortunately, you can get around it:
1. Type about:config into the Firefox location bar.
2. Right-click on the page and select New and then Integer.
3. Name it privacy.popups.disable_from_plugins
4. Set the value to 2.
The possible values are:
* 0: Allow all popups from plugins.
* 1: Allow popups, but limit them to dom.popup_maximum.
* 2: Block popups from plugins.
* 3: Block popups from plugins, even on whitelisted sites.

I'm currently trying the Beta 1 version of IE 7 now. Pretty good so far, but some pages have some minor defects, like size 1 font on some sites. I'm hoping Beta 2 will run smoother.
