A lot of times the actual url of the audio/video is inside the little "stream" file you download in plain text, you can open it with notepad and just save the file it points to. ;)
A stream downloader sounds more convenient though

To download a stream first of all you need to know the RTSP/MMS link to the stream. That's usually located as plain text inside the file that opens the stream (asx, ram, wmx, etc)...
Then, you also need a utility that will save the stream. MPlayer is the program I use for this purpose. Just type the following line(s) in an MS-DOS window:
mplayer -dumpstream mms://address
mplayer -dumpstream rtsp://address
and the stream will be dumped in the program directory as "streamdump" or something like that. Change the filename and add the correct file extension and that's it...

or if ur viewing in wmp then u can swift to copy this item to a disc it works ok just uses up quite afew discs
