Caveman Massacre Need Smart Thing

Question:
Caveman Massacre Need Smart Thing
1. Budget 1,500-2000, im still savin for it, so as u can see waiting a little is not really a problem....im getting close.
2.size does not matter.
3.GAMING....maybe video editing heard new games can take advantage of dual cores...is there truth to that? Also must run a program called vital desktop well, it sucks system resources well with a powerful screensaver running under your desktop icons, i consider this to be a cool representation of power, even though it is not needed.........check out my other thread about vital desktop + uselesscreation screensavers
OBLIVION RECOMMENDED SPECS:
* 3 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor
* 1 GB System RAM
* ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card (might wait for 7600 or get x1600 or 7800 cuz of this)
4. Must not be able to burn me, i dont like sitting at a desk like i am now.
5. want something about as powerful as ps3 or x360,
GAMES: FEAR, CONDEMNED, especially ELDER SCROLLS OBLIVION, at max or near max settings.....call of duty 2, wow and city of heroes/villans and guild wars......in the future want neverwinter nights 2 and far cry 2.
6.brands i dont like: hp=crap, its wat im typing on now
7. battery: im a gamer, a gamer who doesnt like to be plugged into the wall, but if i had to sacrifice either power or portability i would choose portability. A really long battery life would be cool though.
8.Online is fine. i buy stuff alot from import ps2 games to metal helmets and force fx lightsabers.
9.im proud to be an american.
10.a-f......I dont care. battery is more important than screen size but would like it to be widescreen.
11. again....dont care glossy or mantel (sp?)
12.i like things with style......like the cameo color of the ibuypower turbo-ml, but i also like power, like the core duo inspirion e-something from hp with a 7800 (i heard it runs hot somewhere here though)
13. it must last 3-4 years. i hav a crappy desktop gpu and it seems to have outlasted most games well except pixel and vertex shader ones
14.Hard drive space: i dont care rpm must equal at least 5400 though, but at least a decent size maybe somewhere between 40-80gb. maybe 100gb. maybe.
15. prefer a all in one dvd burner for video editing
ADDITIONAL FEATURES: 1 gig ram minimum, on one stick for upgrading, i prefer 2 gig ram....NOT NEEDED BUT WOULD BE COOL: a internal usb port, ive read about this in a few places, ones have been hidden on the underside(id like it, but not required) or a good placement of a usb slot.......reason for an internal usb/underside usb/well placed usb....is cuz im getting vista eventally and it can utlize usb flash drives like ram. I also want at least a comparable processor to a 3.2 ghz p4 but only in the portable pentium m/core duo/turion. NO Pentium 4 or athlon 64/64x2 on my notebook....it must run somewhat cool with hopefully decent battery. SIDENOTE: Plan to undervolt a little and overclock.

The Dell E1705 looks like a good choice, with a coupon, it will run near the lower end of your budget :)

Re: Caveman Massacre Need Smart Thing
The Dell E1705 is a good budget choice.
I'd stick around for the updated version of the Sager NP-5720 when it has the dual-core processor. It should be right around $2k in my best guestimate with a Core Duo and a Radeon X1800XT 256MB.

I think they might have taken it off due to supply issues.
That game certainly has high requirements. An X1600 should run it nicely though - the MSI-1039 will have it, it's coming out in a few weeks. 15.4", very nice.
And of course, the dual-core Sager 5720 is also going to make its appearance soon, probably at the end of March or early April, sometime around that timeframe. Will probably push your budget, I'd wait to see what the price is.
