Question:
Budget laptop with international warranty?
I'm trying to help a friend who lives in Japan and will be returning to Australia in August. I offered to help buy a computer in the U.S. where they are much cheaper, but I think an international warranty is the way to go. However, the selection for budget computers with international warranties is pretty sparse.
All Fujitsus have international warranties, but they are a bit too expensive for the speed and features.
With Sonys I remember that you can add international coverage to the standard warranty for $50, but I dont really trust Sony products much...:(
I have been looking at this Asus model: AH3
The AH3 is an Ensemble system with a low price of about $750 or less after rebate. It comes with 1.60 Celeron M, 512MB RAM, 60 GB Hard drive, DVD-dual burner, 1.3 megapixel camera, built-in card reader, a 15 inch screen, and a 1 year international warranty.
Are there any other alternatives?

I believe Asus is the only manufacturer that offers a global warranty.
