Barebones
I know you can buy barebone laptops (whitebooks i think is what they are called), how are they? I know Asus makes them but any other manufacturers? How well do the whitebooks run?

Most of them are decent systems; generally, they're no different from mainstream ones except it's easy to install the main components yourself. My KN1's access panel makes it easy to remove dust around the fan, at the very least.

You can also get whitebook/barebones from Clevo. They are the ODM (original design manufacturer) to many boutiques, including Alienware. Building yourself can save you hundreds over buying (thousands over buying from alienware).
