I posted here a while ago and got alot of suggestions. Now I've come back and I'm trying to figure out the final choice. I have configured the laptops and now need your help again.

I get out of school in a week (YAH) and will have a lot of time on my hands before I leave for my cottage in mid June. So I would like to get the notebook ASAP, and so not sure about the 570U (cause the date might be far off)

another one you should consider is the lg p1/s1. of the ones you've listed, if you want to be able to take it to class, i would consider 15.4", though it's a bit on the larger side for being portable...

the x1600 is a good gpu. it will run most games at mid-high settings.

For carrying around, I'd stick to a 15.4" rather than a 17". See one in person before you buy, that always helps.
The X1600 is very powerful, I agree. It's the best card you'll find in a 15.4".
The LG is a beautiful notebook, and is the only one that size I know of with a numpad. If you use a numpad, I'd definitely put that notebook at the top of your list. Other than that, the Acer TM8204 is the most powerful 15.4" on the market.

Does anyone know a retailer where I can hold the Acer before I buy it in Toronto? Would like to get a handle on the shape and size before I purchase it.

Try CanadaSys, they have 3 locations, phone em up and see if they have a display model for you to play around with.
