Light gaming, browsing the internet, e-mail, watching anime in a 4:3 screen ratio, and occasionally listening to music.

On my desk a majority of the time; taking it places only occasionally.

Screen Specifics
10) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
b. SXGA = Super eXtended Graphics Array; 1400x1050; This resolution offers a middle ground between XGA and UXGA.
c. UXGA = Ultra eXtended Graphics Array; 1600x1200; This resolution will give you the smallest viewable text and images while offering the greatest amount of screen real estate.
I absolutely do not want widescreen. I watch a ton of anime in 4:3 screen aspect ratio and I hate those little black bars on the side. Stretching the picture is no good.
11) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
I want a glossy/reflective screen but will settle for matte/non-glossy if that's what it comes down to.
Build Quality and Design
12) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
Yes. This is the reason I don't like Dell, I don't like how it looks. I would like something very sleek and stylish.
13) How long do you want this laptop to last?
1.5-2 years. By that time I'm sure I'll be itching to buy a new one. =)
Notebook Components
14) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 120GB?
100GB+ is a must. Again, I download lots of anime and like to listen to music.
15) Do you need a DVD, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-R drive?
DVD-R drive. It's one of those things that even if you don't use it often, you'll be glad you have it when you do need to use it.
Thank you! :)

I really like the Asus V6J. I was hoping to get an X1600 or 7600GO but I suppose the 7400GO might be good enough. The TurboCache memory is what worries me.

Anime does have alot of widescreen nowadays, about 30% WS, 70% standard ;)
The 7400 isn't bad, it will do fine for what you are gonna play right now.

almost all gaming notebooks are widescreen. i don't know of a single notebook with the x1600 that isn't.
