cheap notebook for collage, what should i get?
I need a laptop for collage, my budget isnt the best but the laptop dosnt have to be the best.
1) What is your budget? Flexible up to £600, would rather £500
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
Either:
A. Ultraportable; 12" screen or less
B. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
- Web browsing, music, word processing, some movies, general collage things.
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk? Taking it around with me
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games? Some but not graphics intense, if i was going to play a game on a laptop it would be Tibia
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?not HP or Compaq.
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
- As much as possible
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
- No your word is enough
9) What country are you buying this in? England

10) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?

OR

11) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
Matte/non-glossy would be a prefrence
Build Quality and Design
12) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
- Yes, id rather that the notebook is good looking preferably a white laptop not black
13) How long do you want this laptop to last? At least 3 years.

14) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 120GB?
- 80 GB
15) Do you need a DVD, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-R drive?
- DVD-CD/RW drive

look to, HP and Compaq models, they are spose to be around 1000$ USD
Compaq V2000, v3000
HP nc series, they offer good value :D

Might want to try getting a used IBM T4x series laptop from ebay.
Some of them come stacked with 7200rpm drives, SXGA+ 14" LCDs etc.
Plus they are IBM , quality is amazing!! and they will definitely be more durable and better built than any new laptop out there in your budget.
