$1,000-$1,500 laptop?

Question:
$1,000-$1,500 laptop?
Hello,
I would like to buy a laptop in the $1,000-1,500 price range, including possible extended warranties. After significant research, and seriously considering Dell, Sony, Toshiba, and Lenovo, I seem to keep coming back to Dell. My present choice is either the E1405 or the D620, with the D620 winning out given its graphics card and lighter weight and the E1405 winning due to better price, and seeming better component slots. This will be my ONLY laptop. Also, think, do I wait for new HP/Apples???
Following are my answers to the questions. I appreciate all advice!!!:

A 14" gaming notebook on $1500 budget is gonna be tough. If you can go a little bigger you'll have more choices.
