Re: HP vs. Toshiba?
well the toshiba is statiticly a little bit better but the HP is mostlikely cheaper. i would also not advise a toshiba because i bought a satalite a little while a go and it chrached the first night, it also when thow two motherboards in the first week if they haven't imporved there quality then even if the HP is more money it is mostlikely going to be alot easier on you stress levels. they don't have any good tec's either that you can call (when i called one tec told me to turn the computer upside down take that battery out to "fix" a chrashed computer). good luch with the shopping
note*** if anyone reading has ever tried phoneing the toshiba phone center they would agree there customer relations is horrable.

the toshiba and hp are both 1249 dollars...thanks for the advice i'm still not sure tho..I seen that the toshiba's hard drive speed was faster..I'm not sure about toshiba's video card tho..heard good things about the one that comes with the hp. any other advice would be helpful

Re: HP vs. Toshiba?
Memory is generally a piece of cake to upgrade on most laptops. Most (actually.. nearly all) laptops likewise don't have upgradable video cards, including both of these.

Yes. Although you might not notice the difference unless you multitask a lot. The Toshiba is a dual core processor, while the HP is a 64 bit processor.

Re: HP vs. Toshiba?
i have had a toshiba for about three years now. it has gone through alot of abuse, but has heald up well, and i would venture to say they are pretty high quality. but i have one word of caution. look at the power supply and take note of how the plug goes into the computer. this breaks on mine, and unfortuantly it is attached to the motherboard, so it costs 600$ to fix. i have been more careful and it hasn't broken again. i have seen some other toshibas and it didn't look like they had the problem. to check, look on the back, how much can you move the plug around? how much COULD it move if it was forced? would this movement be enough to break off the prong in the center? be sure to check this before buying!
out of these two, i'd say they are about even, the toshiba has a better processor, and the HP has a better graphics card (although they are both still integrated)

Only thing I will add to the above comments is that the HP will be better for games, although niether is really suited for gaming.
