Anything wrong w/ Dell Inspiron E1705??

Question:
Anything wrong w/ Dell Inspiron E1705??
I'm pretty crunched about getting in on this $750 off coupon before it expires tomorrow, so is there anything wrong with an E1705 with:
2.16 GHz Core Duo (may only go with the 2.00 GHz)
XP Media Center 2005
17" WXGA+ (or maybe 17" WUXGA w/ UltraSharp and TrueLife)
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (or maybe the cheaper 533MHz)
100GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive (which is free with the offer)
8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)
Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Internal(2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate)
256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 7800
Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy® ADVANCED HD Audio
I'm pretty sure the CPU and GPU are quite good, and most of the rest of the stuff should be fine. Mostly I'm worried about the audio, screen and that PRO/Wireless thing. I need to look into that to make sure it will allow me to connect to the internet via my wireless router. (I know it seems to be what it's made for, but I gotta check on it anyway :))
I could go with the cheaper audio (simply called "Integrated Audio" by Dell), but I'm not sure about the quality of it since it doesn't even have a *name.*
The cheaper WXGA+ screen is probably plenty good enough for me unless someone knows of something wrong with it.

No problem, its a monster.
But do note, its a 17", so its not very portable.

think about buying less memory and buying it via www.newegg.com. Dell memory is very expensive.
rest is great :) i have the same laptop with almost the same configuration (except 1.83 Ghz)

WXGA on a 17 inch screen? :/

deithven: I know, and I'd go with Newegg if I was buying a desktop, but I'd be too scared to take apart my brand new baby. I've never put memory (or anything else) in a notebook before.
Smith2688: It's WXGA+, if that makes a difference to you. Is there a problem with it?

Well, for me, that resolution is way too low for such a large physical screen size. If you haven't checked a 17 inch WXGA+ notebook out in the store, I'd do so before you ordered.
But, hey, this is coming from someone who thinks that WUXGA+ is fine on a 15.4 inch screen haha.

(WXGA+ vs WUXGA truelife)
People also like the WXGA+ (except Dell's recent notebook LCDs are notorious for light leakage - it's biggest problem IMO) so you might have to fight with Dell to get a decent screen.
Agree on the aftermarket RAM upgrade if you feel comfortable doing it (it's easy & does not void warranty).

The wireless card is great.. it works on my home wireless router, a Lynksys, and it works at school too.
The screen resolution is not unbearable. in fact, you can adjust it in your browser and from the desktop properties. I like it, I like it alot!
The RAM is easy to install, unscrew lid, click it into place, re-screw lid, voila! The one under the keyboard may be a bit trickier, but hell, saving over $500 on RAM is worth the PITA.

Re: Anything wrong w/ Dell Inspiron E1705??
I can't get the notebook without at least 1 GB of RAM pre-installed, and maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to find where Newegg offers 1 GB RAM modules that don't come in pairs. Everything I see is either 512 x 2 or 1 GB x 2, and I think there's only two RAM slots in the notebook. That means I could only save something like 25-50 dollars, and have RAM left over, plus it's not enough savings to negate my discomfort with breaking open my baby.:(
(If there's actually a single 1 GB RAM module, then I could probably save enough to make me feel better about opening it up, but I'm just not seeing it.)
