Compaq V3000 or Dell E1405
Guys,
My IBM is slowly going to rest and I need a replacement. I have been searching a lot and seems that I cannot find a 14 inches laptop with a goog GPU.
I just decided to give up on the idea and I was wondering what do you guys think about the new HP laptop.
The Dell seems nice but I like the new HP design much more. Do you guys know what are the specs on the RAM speed for the HP?
HP just says 1GB with no speed noted.
All opinions are welcome. I need to buy this by this week.

they will not have the upgraded video options until the beginning of june most likely. the dell e1405 has the most bang for your buck, but the hp/compaq are nicer looking. it depends on which is more important to you.
also, if you want to look at 14" with good gpus, consider the asus w3j, asus a8jm (mx at portableone in the u.s.)

How is Asus?
They have good service?
I will look into it.
If they are coming out in June I will wait a bit.
I would like power, GPU, battery, good screen and PRICE. Lots to ask :-)

asus has good build quality. their service is dependent on the reseller. portable one, who provides the mx (asus a8jm) is a very reputable reseller. for the w3j, powernotebooks.com, geared2play.com, proportable.com, and c9tech.com are some good resellers.

Those Asus are nice but PRICEY.

Asus makes good quality notebooks. You might even try discountlaptops.com...they might have some stuff from sager and/or chembook.

chembook 4080.(scoll down) looks decent. i've heard that chembook makes decent quality laptops. i think if you're expecting something cheaper than that, with a better graphics card and core duo..uhh...i'm just gonan say...that'd be dreamin pal...:-P

Yup that price is good.
I can spend 1500 for all around laptop.
I did not trust Chembook or Asus before because I was not sure if the warranty was as good as HP and Dell.
