i am going to buy new Laptop soon
i have 4 options to choose
Sony Vaio VGN-SZ1VP/C or VGN-SZ1XP/C (UK Model)
Sony Vaio VGN-FE21S (UK Model)
Dell XPS M1710
Lenovo ThinkPad T60
Which one the best?
i 'll use this laptop word processing, SQL Datebase, Video and photo, internet, using some programs, listening to music, Chat, stuff like that....And have a lot of programs open at once.
about the games not sure but mebe so if yes i 'll play Counter-strike, PES, BF2.

Best is defined individually. The ThinkPad will be the best built. The Dell will have the best card, but won't be very portable. Sonys in my opinion are overpriced for what you get.

If you are looking for the best glossy screen, I would suggest a Fujitsu. They are the best in my opinion. If you are looking for a matte screen, the ThinkPad FlexView is the best I have seen. Plus they offer superior quality and support, but you won't get a GPU like in the Dell.

If you need portability definitely go for the SZ, no other notebook is nearly as light and still has a decent CPU and graphics.
As for the scrren, the FE21 definitely has one of the best screens on the notebook market today, it's very very bright and evenly lit.
Both Sony's are more stylish than the rest.

For what you want to do, the XPS1710 would be overkill for sure...the vaio FE is probably the best combination of features for a pretty reasonable price (considering its a sony), with a formidable graphics card (nvidia go7600 is pretty high end, will easily play the latest games) and a really nice screen. If you want to have heaps of programs open at once you might want to look into getting an external monitor as well, and run both of them at once.
