i'm looking at the compaq v2000z with 512mb ram, 12 cell battery, sempron 3300+ ect. ect. and the averatec 2100. i can't find a review of the 2100, so i can't really see if that one is good or not......any more suggestions?

Re: budget small laptops for everyday uses
I'd take a look at the Dell Inspiron E1405. Now, it doesn't have the greatest GPU (Intel GMA950), but no matter what 14" and less notebook you get in that price range, it isn't going to be good at playing games. The games you posted should run on the GMA950, mostly if they are older.
You can get the Dell E1405 with a Core Duo and a 14" display for under your budget; there are links at the top of the page for the Dell Coupons. They'll help keep the price down.

Re: budget small laptops for everyday uses
i don't really like the dell e1405 that much...idk maybe its just the looks of it or something....but i guess it would match my I9300.
any more suggestions?
also i found i can get a decently outfited MSI 1022 for $1100 which doesn't sound bad for what it is, so i might stretch my budget if nothing appealls to much too much.
