How 'bout this DELL E1705 deal? Gamer?

Question:
How 'bout this DELL E1705 deal? Gamer?
Hey gang, I just ordered my new Dell E1705 through my company which gets employee discount pricing on all Dell products. I didn't need to use the Dell coupons on this site! I got 34% off the top, an additional 12% for getting at least the 3yr warranty, also 2% for financing with Dell and last but not least a $100 rebate for the warranty itself! I was looking for a laptop that I could play "Call of Duty", "Medal of Honor", "Battlefield 1942" but not necessarily online. I want to play these games at the office, on trips etc. I might hook it up online now and then! I'd like to get that Verizon wireless internet card but at $100????
Here is the configuration I got so please tell me what y'all think!!

Processor: Intel Core Duo T2600 2.16GHz/667MHZ FSB
Op Sys: Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
Screen: Ultra Sharp WS UXGA Display with TRUELIFE
Memory: 2GB Shared Dual Channnel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS
Hard Drive: 100GB 7200 RPM
DVD: FREE! 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/ Double Layer DVD+R write
Sound: Intergrated Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED HD Audio
Wireless: Intel Pro 3945 & Dell 350 Bluetooth Internal Wireless Cards
Battery: 80 WHr 9-cell Lithium Ion
Media: TV Tuner w/ Remote Control

Dell Digital Entertainment: Premium Ent Pack - Total Solution w/advanced photo editing

Price you ask, check this out:
Retail: $3,578.00 :D
34% Dis.(-$1,216.52): $2,361.48 :D
12% Dis.(- $283.38): $2,078.10 :D
2% Dis.(w/Dell Fin): $2,036.54 :D
FREE SHIPPING!! :D
My Final price out the door: $2198.54!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Not bad huh? I figured with the huge discounts I might as well load it up with the best components possible! Make sense? So is this a deal or what? How does this configuration look for the games I mentioned? I looked at the Toshiba P105 S921 but it had a slower hardrive 4,200rpm, slower processor 1.83GHz, and only 1gig of memory. I also looked at the HP DV8280 but the same as the Toshiba plus a lesser video card. Those were both nice LT's though!!! Sager was great and Alienware as well but both were a bit pricey!!
I really feel I could not beat this deal or value!!
Ok my fellow notebookers please give me your opinions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks and HAPPY COMPUTING, GAMIMG, ETC.!!

You paid too much. That processor should have been at the highest a t2500. I would have recommended t2400 to save you money and the fact that the performance differences are minimal or negligible to the price difference. A few hundred dollars off, plus you could have purchased ram from somewhere else for 1/2 the price saving you another 120-150 bucks. Installing it is easy. Everything else looks good, the battery, hd, vid card screen, software (im assuming you have purposes for it). You probably could have bought this machine for around 1600 with doing what i suggested and spent 1750 total for almost equal performance. But hey if you have money, go for it. I bought mine for about 1750 total, and with rebates I'll be getting from dell as well as new egg it comes out to about 1700 with relativley the same performance as yours, a little slower but I didn't use an EPP discount.

ok so u got 40% off
unfortunately most of the things you added onto it were 100% over
so like you paid um 300 for a cpu upgrade and what 200 for ram and 200 for hd or some such ridiculousness.
im not trying to put you down if you already spent the money. maybe someone will read and try to apply some iq to the dell laptop site.
I mean I personally think the thing is brilliant. I want to write a psychology paper on it.
It seems to make the sale to the educated shopper and juice the money from the uneducated shopper all in the same little tabs. you can make the e1705 the best deal and the worst deal on the market all with a few clicks.
its an iq test.

It's a good notebook, the Dell E1705. But there's always something called bang for buck or hardware/price ratio. You do have an awesome system from them. If you feel that it was a bit too much, you could talk to the customer service guy and return it,reconfigure it and get another one whilst saving a lot of money. If I were in your position and were to get inputs like this,it's what I would do.

i would make a sticky for how to order from dell because
A im tired of explaining it sorry.
B a lot of people on a daily basis need this information because theyre not going to put in enough time in thise purchase to learn how.
ok but if I did that, if there were a direct easy to access link even for the small amount of people who come and visit this forum.....
Dell would learn about it and just change it.
