Traveling with the military, so yes. Traveling a good deal, but it a stationary set-up when I reach my locale.

Looking for the best possible deal; I'm having a terrible time finding a good Laptop with a high-end GPU in it that wont break my bank. Just because I have a (estmated) budget of 2600 doesnt mean I want to spend it all if I don't have to.
The core requirement is the GPU; as I want this to last atleast 2 years, its absolutely imparative that I get one of the "top 4" graphic cards. Ie: 7900GS,7800GTX, X1800XT,or the 7900GTX. Dependability is a big issue too; as this will be my total desktop replacement I cannot afford to have a shoddy machine that will potentially break while I'm deployed in a remote location.

** I most likely wont be buying until End of July

If you are willing to carry around a 17" notebook, the Sager NP5760 is your best bet:

I also like the Dell XPS M1710, but the Sager offers a better design in my opinion, along with improved build quality and more features. Also has a full-size keyboard, something which the Dell lacks, and the cost is much lower.
For ease of traveling, I would probably go with a 15.4". The Compal HEL80 offers a great combination of price/performance:

Re: Desktop/Gaming Rig for traveling Military
I just got in the m1710 this week and it is really sturdy, although I know it is a little higher than your price range. I purchased the red special edition, so you may be able to do it in your price range in black.
I mainly wanted to let you know to be sure and go through the AAFES site (I am retired military) if you are going to order through Dell, HP, Patriot PC, or Micron. I saved $1100.00 from what it would have cost me direct from Dell by going through the AAFES site. Had I known about this site prior to ordering, I might have tried some of the coupons here too :( .
BTW, playing games (why I bought the m1710) in 17" widescreen at high resolution is a blast!!
