Ati x1600

Question:
Ati x1600
Hey everyone, are there any barebone laptops which utilize the ati x1600 as their gpu? Preferably one from a semi-reputable company. If there are no barebones, are there any full systems that have it and cost below 1300 with rebates?

Re: Ati x1600
When new technology comes out, its always bloody expensive, right now I doubt there are any DC notebooks under the 1500 mark, and with a GPU, perhaps more.
Even so, they have just broken into the market, so wait a few weeks until they come out.
ASUS barebones with DC are not set to be refreshed(current lines being updated with new processor+GPU) until February-March for the first new barebone(and prebuilt) stretching to Sept-November, with weekly/monthly new releases

Well i'd expect there to be a barebone for under 1300, anything above that would be much too pricy.

You will have to wait - there are very few notebooks with the X1600. Right now, there are Apple MacBook's, Acer TravelMate 8200 series, and the Asus A7G. We should be seeing more soon.
I would expect a barebone X1600 notebook to run about ~$1,100 or so. Just my educated estimate.

Re: Ati x1600
It really does look nice doesn't it. The one slight (fairly minor) issue I have with it was I was hoping for a notebook with a power supply under 75W so it worked on planes power outlets, although now I think about it my last 90W notebook seemed okay on plane power, it's only my stupid 120W notebook that has real issues.
Maybe that won't be a problem, hmm I think I may have found my new laptop (although I want to see actual specs on the new ASUS stuff, I keep hearing good things about ASUS, but that travelmate just looks the bomb).
