If you download CPU-Z and run it and click on the SPD tab, it says the manufacturer of the RAM and speed, etc...

How about Everest Home Edition? That should tell you. If it doesn't, then it looks like you may have to open your notebook and look at the sticker (if any) on there to see what it says. . .

Ah ok.
Open Everest, Hit Motherboard, then SPD. The information about the memory lies in there.
If you don't know what it is, just post the information back here and we'll see if we can find out . . .

There's nothing there. =(
If I want to run 2 sticks of memory in dual channel do I need the same brand of RAM? I was under the impression that you need 2 of the same sticks to run in dual channel. If this isn't true, let me know. That's the reason I was trying to find out what kind of memory it was.

Re: Anyway to tell what brand of RAM I have?
Not quite sure why you can't see anything.
Some notebooks can use dual channel with different sized sticks of memory. However, I've always been under the impression that you need to of the same size sticks . . that is what I would go with.
Having the same brands is not that important. However, it is best to have matching timings for the modules - otherwise, you could potentially have some system instability.
