A brief comparison is available at "The Mother of All CPU charts" (http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/11/...u_charts_2005/) at Tom's Hardware. You might want to look around Tom's in general to get comparisons for specific games or other applications.
But gaming performance is generally more dependent on the video card than the CPU, and this is what should be driving your decision regarding which notebook to buy.
Additionally, both the processors you mention run hot, especially the P4. Most members of this forum would strongly recommend against buying a P4.
I defer to these gaming experts on this forum for more details . . .

Re: figures p4 vs amd 64 ?
I'm not so much into gaming as much as in 3d graphics and design so that's why I'm checking out those processors. I was thinking of x700 but configurations I've seen so far rarely have anything better than x300. how come?!
currently I'm working on a duron 800 vaio so I'm used to pc running hot:D

Definately get AMD64 3500+ and above or even Turion ML44. P4 really sucks in a notebook

Re: figures p4 vs amd 64 ?
Although a Pentium M will get the job done for rendering/graphics design, an Athlon 64 or Pentium 4 excel at those tasks....however, there are very few Pentium 4-based notebooks on the market anymore, and for good reason - Pentium 4 requires a large cooling solution, and therfore you will have a big, hot and heavy notebook, with very little battery life. Try to avoid them.
Look at the HP zv6000 - it has an AMD Athlon 64 (desktop replacement), which actually run quite cool - I had an Athlon 64 3400+ in my last notebook (a zv5000z, essentially the same as the zv6000), and my notebook didn't heat up at all.

thanks for the replies guys.
I pretty much know what I want, but the problem is that such notebook does not egzist. my perfect config is amd 4000+, go 6800, 17". but nobody seems to be making anything like it.
now I'm trying to find something close enough.
the computer would be used for 3d graphic design(3d max, rhino,...).
I don't mind pore battery life or it being heavier a few pounds. I just need to be able to take it from home to work and back.
my budet is up to 2000$

Hmm...might look into the MSI-1029. RawPowerPC has them. Here is a review of the MSI:
