Re: Do you leave your notebook on 24/7?
I once left my notebook on for 24 hours, but I never did it again after that. I took out my battery to preserve it though. Usually newer notebooks can take being on for long periods of time, as they have better hardware than older notebooks. Just make sure it has good ventilation and you aren't running games 24/7 (it could mess up the screen).

but when you think about the whole 24/7 aspect i doubt anyone just leaves in "on" as alot of people will just put it in stand bye, which keeps the notebook much cooler, etc. etc.

i don't see why people don't use standby when they are away from computer, turns off your harddrives and CPU will be much cooler, when i return my computer from stand bye the CPU temp is usually down to 34 degrees or so, if my computer is idle and doesn't go into standbye the temp usually stays at 49-51 degrees.

i normaly leave it on for about 12 hours a day and then turn it off a night.
dont often take the batery out when its on my desk because it sits on its cooler and if i do then it is missing 1 leg and wobbles about, did stop this happening by puting blu tak under it to support it but now thats run out (its on my walls).
