Thanks to all the advice received already and thanks to nicksphon for the questionnaire.
Now I answered all of the questions, hoping for more info.
General Questions
1) What size notebook would you prefer?
b. Thin and Light; 13" - 14" screen
c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen

2) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
Edit Photos with photoshop, filing pictures, writing and research on internet, burning CD/DVDs
3) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
I like to take it with me sometimes.
4) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games? NO5) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
I like Sony's Vaios, but open to anything better suited
6) How many hours of battery life do you need?
I would say about 5
7) What is your budget?
at the moment getting the features I need is important, then I'll decide
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person? NO
9) What country are you buying this in?
Switzerland or Europe

10) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?

I would take a look at the HP dv4000. I'm pretty sure that's avaliable where you live. With the 12-cell extended battery, it can get over five hours of battery life, on par with what you want.
Also, Samsung notebooks are very nice - they are not avaliable here in the states. Very stylish, and some of them have nice battery life.
A ThinkPad T42/43 would be a nice computer as well.

The Asus W3V should make a terrific fit - powerful, stylish and meets all of your requirements. If you want a notebook with dual-core CPUs, the Sony Vaio FE (15.4" screen) and the Sony Vaio SE (14" screen) would both make great fits.
EDIT: Sorry, that's the Sony SZ not SE.
