Question:
$1500-$1750 Gaming Laptop
Hello everyone. I am new to the forums so please be gentle ><...well, to get straight to the point. my Desktop is outdated(by about 5 years) and i am looking into the market for a Gaming Laptop. Although i can have a close friend of mine personally build me another desktop power house for ~$1100, i would LOVE to get into the laptop scene for mobility(for the future!!).
I have been shopping around online and a few models that have caught my attention are as follows.
http://malabs.com/product.asp?produc...&pass=&shopid= $1678.66
http://malabs.com/product.asp?produc...&pass=&shopid= $1509.95

i would really like some insight on what you all think of either of these 3 laptops, and if maybe you have some other reccomendations.
What i am looking for:
15.4"-17" widescreen (full keyboard if possible)
1G ram
60-100G harddrive(5400-7200)
X700/Go6600
DVD-R/+RW
Battery Life (?) (this will be mostly at home, but taken on road occasionally)
Games i will be playing:
Unreal Tournament
MMORPG(FFXI/WoW)
WarCraft3
(other titles to be named later)
all help is much appreciated...sorry if i left out any other information ><...this post was put up prior to other arrangements....

The ASUS Z71v, HP Dv4000 or Compaq v4000 are also other options for an affordable yet portable gaming laptop

Check out the MSI-1036. I don't know if you're going to want an extended warranty with it, but if not you can match those system requirements with your budget.

I like the second notebook on your list - to me it looks like the M60/M65 here in the US (I'm not sure if it's renamed/rebadged). The 6600 Go on that notebook is good enough to keep all modern games going at medium-high settings. If you want to shop around for a 15.4" notebook, I second the HP dv4000 or you might want to take a look at the MSI-1029.

You can get a good gaming Z71V or Z70Va for less than 1500 from avadirect.com .
Also look for MSI 1029 and MSI 1032.

I also recommend the MSI-1036 in a 17" size. It's avaliable from RawPowerPC. The 256MB X700 video card will handle every game out there today.
And I too second the MSI-1029 for a 15.4", or if you feel more comfortable going with a mainstream company, then the HP dv4000. ;)
Upgrading the memory yourself will save you money. Just grab it off of Newegg or ZipZoomFly.

perhaps a shuttle pc would be a good compromise...
Maybe a cheaper 12 inch notebook and a shuttle with gaming components could fit your budget....
