---------------------------------------------------------------
hello...
i have had 2 laptops as of now..

i still have the emachines and i love it
but it has a number of dead pixels, a hole in its lcd screen(only the top layer), a hour long battery, its cpu fan is going out, 32 mb of video memory limits games, and its celeron processors heat could probably cook something
i want to get a new laptop.

The Fujitsu S2110 is slightly bigger (13.3") than you originally wanted, but it is the best ultraportable for the money in my opinion. You can get a base configuration, which is pretty good, for $1,200.

I suggest taking a look at either the Sony S-Series (13.3") or the Apple iBook (12"). The 12" iBook starts at $1000 and comes with a dedicated GPU (32MB of the Radeon 9550 - a bit old, but should play Halo on low/med. settings depending upon how much RAM you have).

Re: Athother What to get
Halo is actually quite difficult to handle. I would recommend an X600 or Go6400 if you plan to play that comfortably. A Go6200 or X300 could do it but at medium or lower settings.
I think that if you want a notebook that small, you'll probably have to give up the gaming requirement.
If you are willing to go a bit bigger, check out the Compal EFL-30 and the MSI-1022. Both have dedicated Nvidia GPUs.
