Do I smell a scam?

Question:
Do I smell a scam?
Well, well, this sure is interesting. A new seller selling fifty Vaio T350P/Ls with the ram upgraded to 1 gig and including an extra battery and selling them each for......$300!?!?
I smell a dirty, filthy, downright disgusting scam over here, here's the link,
http://page.auctions.yahoo.com/auction/96107711
The seller is new and will only accept USPS Money Orders. He's responded to all my emails very quickly and courteously. I can tell 99.999% this is a scam, but theres that stupid nagging thing in my head that this could be real, I'm such a sucker you know? Anyways, don't USPS money orders give some protection?
I looked on a internet fraud website and here is what a guy had to say,
If you are paying with a money order, use a _Postal_ money order. This is less convenient than the kind you get at the grocery store, but if there is fraud, it becomes Mail Fraud, and a USPS Postal Inspector will investigate. Petty crooks don't like federal prisons (no parole). None of the other kinds of money orders will trigger an investigation if there is a problem.
In case this seller is real, FAT CHANCE, I'm gonna buy me five of these! But like its gonna happen though. One dudes already bid on it, I contacted him and told him to tell me how everything goes once he wins the item. Sorry if I've wasted anyones time with this.

Well, that's the starting bid for an auction that ends next week. The processor is also a 1.2 GHz, but that's still a good buy. It's worth noting that the seller has only one piece of feedback.

I contacted him and he actually said he'd sell them for $300 each, too good to be true don't you think? Though I still have this very nagging thought in my head that this guy isn't like one of the billions of other laptop scammers on the net.

Yeah, if I knew for sure that it wasn't a scam, I'd take 2.

Hm . .the guy isn't very reputable it seems. Only been a member since Jan 9 2006, and has (1) feedback.
But as posted, something says it might not be a scam.

Re: Do I smell a scam?
Well, he had also been selling many Xbox 360s as well, he'd taken a picture of the sealed boxes and had put a sticky note with his username on it and January 9th, 2006, when he had started his account. I dunno, that kinda convinces me it may not be a scam right
Isn't USPS Money Order pretty safe though? What would happen in case this guy doesn't ship the notebooks he claims to have?

Re: Do I smell a scam?
Money orders are not really traceable. It is like cash in a check form. You might want to talk to him about other payment methods...i.e. personal check, at least that way if it is not shipped you can cancel it out of your bank account.
Tell they guy to get paypal because it is free. If he refuses any of that I wouldn't send him the money.

Re: Do I smell a scam?
Well, I'm talking about USPS money orders, I hear these are different from regular money orders. I think they said that if there is fraud, that the postal service will investigate and try to throw the fraudster into federal jail...nice.

That's true, if you get scammed with a USPS money order, they will go after the scammer. It's nice to have them do the dirty work ;)

Whoa, sounds like a scam to me. If not then it's stolen merchandise or something.
How could he sell that stuff for so little money???
I wouldn't trust it
