32mb video memory enough for basic tasks?

Question:
32mb video memory enough for basic tasks?
I recently purchased a Compaq Presario V2000Z with 512MB RAM and the ATI 200m integrated video. I saw in the BIOS that I can change the shared memory settings for the 200m from 128mb to 64mb or 32mb. Is there any reason to dedicate more than 32mb of the system's 512mb for the integrated video chipset if I won't be doing gaming or CAD tasks? I want to free up as much system memory as possible for multiple programs, etc. Thanks all.

It should be as long as you are not:
Gaming (Solitaire and Minesweeper run fine on 32mb :D )
CAD (No chance of running photoshop in a timely matter on 32mb)
watching Movies (DVDs may have prob...idk:confused: )
but wordprocessing, internet, etc. will run fine (may have prob with Powerpoint again...idk:confused: )
I hope this helps

not at all... 32mb is more than enough- be careful in the bios... i would say maybe do 64 incase you will look at a lot of graphic intense websites- if worst comes to worst a few extre megs of ram never broke anyones wallet

Like other people have said... 32 MB's is more then enough for just about any basic task. I don't think DVD's and Powerpoint require anymore video memory then lighter tasks like browsing the net. If you ever want to play games though, bump the Shared video memory from 32MB's to 128, and that will serve you better.
