Barebones

Question:
Barebones
Hello everyone,
I have been looking at buying the Sager 5720 but...
I heard about barebones systems and the possibility of putting it together yourself
I would love to do this (I like putting things together myself)
However my problem is that I can't find a barebones that has what I want as a screen
I want a 17" screen with WSXGA+ or WUXGA (preferred) in a bare bones so that I can put it together myself (and save $$)
Does anyone have suggestions on this topic and suggestions on barebones laptops (with above specs) would be great!
Thx,
TBird

Re: Barebones
Asus Z83V will fit the bill... but im not really sure how much $$ you will actually save by putting it together yourself
It might be better to just let the dealer do it for you since they will provide a warrenty for the entire laptop. If you brought everything piece by piece, you will not get any warrenty from the dealer, but instead you'll have to go directly to the manafacture

Re: Barebones
How about an MSI-1036? It has a 256MB X700, not sure of how powerful a GPU you need.
You can get the Sager NP-5720 as a barebone, although it won't be a Sager. If you didn't know, the NP-5720 is a rebadged Clevo M570A. See if you can find that.

Re: Barebones
So you guys are telling me that there are NO barebones systems that are turely barebones
What I mean by barebones is the laptop comes with Screen, power supply, and motherboard
Chaz,
I've gotten sort of hooked on the NVidia Geforce Go 7800 GTX...
I've been doing more research on my own question and the best barebones laptop with 17" screen had only WXGA+... A lot less than WSXGA+ or WUXGA...
Any more suggestions are appreciated
