Re: I'm Really Torn
Sager has above average build quality. They are better than HP's, but not as good as a Lenovo.
You're comparing apples to oranges . . . tough call.
How about a ThinkPad T-series? That has the best quality.

Chaz -
how would you rate the build quality on Sager's models compared to HP's business line?
waterloo -
I agree with Chaz that you need to decide what's more important to you - durability, reliability, features or budget.
Thinkpads are NEVER going to be best bang for buck in terms of raw performance. Especially in the video card department. However, many people will agree that their intangibles, such as build quality, ergonomics, durability and support are well worth the extra $$$.
If you get the Z60m with the X600, you will be able to play all of today's games, but you will have to compromise on resolutions and eye candy. And it will not hold its ground for as long as the 7800GTX in the Sager.
I haven't heard any negatives on the build quality of Z60m. Z60t is another story. I've heard of so much potential issues with it, that I can't recommend it to anyone wholeheartedly. Don't draw conclusions about the Z60m based on Z60t experience - these are completely different models.

I've never actually felt an HP business notebook . . . how about a comparison to a Dell Latitude? I work with them every day at work.
Compared to a D610 (14") -
My Sager's plastic is not as thick, the Dell has a more 'solid' feel to it. However, mine does not feel tinny or cheap. It's above the HP dv4000's quality.
The Dell has metal in the chassis, makes it very non-flexable. Mine does not have any metal in the chassis, yet I cannot flex it even if I twist the chassis . . . there is no noticable flex on my laptop when pressure is applied and/or it is twisted.
The only part of my Sager that is flexable is right below the LCD - you can push in the plastic there.
One really nice build aspect of the 5320 I have is the lid - it is made out of aluminum. Even if my slightly overweight cats sit on it [which I don't let her do!], it moves only very slightly . . heh, but that is understandable, because she is 9 lbs.

:D
Yesterday I was mildly drunk and was toying with the idea of placing a 12.5kg (about 26lb) weight on top of my Compaq Evo (that's one of HP's business machines). In the end I decided it was not worth it. :p
Thanks for the insight. I still remember your Sager review and from it I got the feeling that its build quality is very good. I've seen/touched some HP DVs and they seemed a bit flimsy. Not surprised that the Sager is more solid. But sometimes there are huge differences between consumer and business models, that's why I asked.

Heh yes definitely not worth it!
I have had HP's in the past [specifically the HP zv5000z with an Athlon 64], and this is a definite step up. Does not match a ThinkPad, but what does? :p
