Re: Budget Gaming Laptop?
Well, I hate the first post to be something over your budget, but it's only by $68, and there's free shipping involved. Plus, it's a great laptop, with a good duo core processor (T2300), 120gb of hd space, 1gb of ram, a great graphics card on an ATI X1600 that can run the games you mentioned pretty well, a Wide XGA 15.4" screen, a DVD burner, a 1.3 built-in megapixel camera, and a loong battery life of 3.5 hours:
It's probably one of the best laptops you can get at such a low price. It should last you a couple of years, due to what is in the laptop itself (the X1600 is one of the best mid-range graphics cards you can get, and a lot better than some of the other cards you can find on laptops for the same price). You can also upgrade the memory by another gig whenever you want to, and NewEgg is known for their notoriously fast shipping, so you can buy it on a Monday and recieve it by Friday (unlike some companies, where it may take up to 2 weeks+). Check out all of the user reviews posted for the best help and reactions on the notebook, too.

The Acer 5672 Ridley mentioned is a great choice. You will not find a better video card than that for your price range.
Another choice is the Dell E1505, which has an X1400 and cannot match the X1600.

Clockspeed doesn't make much of a difference these days - the Core Duo T2300 1.66GHz is blazing fast.

The 128MB card should be fine, it can actually borrow system memory if needed.
Take a look at the Asus S96J from milestonepc.com for a 256MB X1600.

Well, suprisingly a day after I posted this, an ad came in from a local electronics store notorious for their prices being **** good, so I took a look. Sure enough, I saw something that caught my eye. HP Pavilion dv5000.
AMD Turion 64 2.1ghz
ATI Radeon Xpress 200m 128mb
1gb ram(not sure the speed)
lightscribe dvd burner
17" widescreen
talked the guy into throwing in BF2 + expansion in for free too..
all for..
$750. Can't beat that, eh?

You can configure a Dell E1505 that will be better than the HP Pavilion DV5000 for around $750. Be sure to use the Dell Coupons available to decrease the total price. The ATI Radeon X1400 is definetly a better card than the ATI Radeon Xpress 200m since its dedicated and not integrated. Also, I believe Dual Core performs better than the AMD Turion. The Dell E1505 will be able to run the games you listed at Medium if not High settings.
Justin.

That is actually not a good gaming notebook - the X200M is a pathetic card for 3D. Justin's suggestion of the E1505 is good.
