Question:
HP dv5215 vs. Toshiba Satellite® Notebook PC (P105-S6024)
Okay, so I was just at Circuit City and looking at the laptops and I was deliberating between which of those two to get.
The Toshiba has 100 GB on the harddrive while the HP has only 80 GB.
They both have the same amount of RAM.
However, the processor and speed of the processor is different.
The HP has a AMD Turion 64 while the Toshiba has an Intel Centrino Duo T2050.
The HP's processor speed is 1.8 GHz while the Toshiba's is 1.6 GHz.
I really wasn't sure which is better and I guess "faster". I do tend to download media a lot of items and my brother tends to like to play games so I don't know which of the two computers would be better.
Thanks for the help. :]

Which one is faster, probably the turion. Anyway u wont notice the difference, since the difference wont be big. BUT, get a good gpu, something like X1400, 7400 or above. Get a faster spinning drive thou. Would help a lot when u wan to move stuff around ur hdd. but the side effect is more heat, and less battery life.

The HP has 5400 RPM as does the Toshiba, so I'm not really familiarized with the speed of the driver.
What exactly is the GPU considered to be?
Sorry, I'm not really computer savvy.
Oh, and why would the Turion probably be faster than the Duo?
Thanks again.

The AMD Turion will not be faster than the Core Duo. The advantages of having two cores far outweighs a 200MHz clock speed advantage. However, the GPU (video card...it handles the games) of both is pretty pitiful and won't provide much for gaming.

Eh. Okay, so would the Toshiba generally be faster than the HP for downloading processes?

Download from where, the internet?
They'll both be practically the same. However, the Core Duo machine will be an overall faster performer.

Yes, from the Internet.
Hmm, which one will be more.... flexible or even more durable for what's to come in the future software-wise or even hardware-wise?
So, would you suggest I get the Toshiba instead?

I thought that the HP with a duo core is priced at about 1100usd. It would be helpful if u had fill in the FAQ.

Hm, I believe so. But the one AMD Turion one was about $850 while the Toshiba I looked at was about $800.
They both were on sale and the differences were basically that
the Toshiba had
100 GB
1.6 GHz
Intel Centrino Duo processor
while the HP had
80 GB
1.8 GHz
AMD Turion 64 processor
Edit
OH, and not to mention that it seems as if the HP has a better screen than the Toshiba. Heh
:/
Sorry, I'll make sure I do it.
