-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm currently looking at both of these notebooks. I was wondering what the differences are between the two and whether I should choose one over the other. I need a machine that will do video editing (my other machine will do the burning and storage)while I'm away from my desktop.
I've read complaints about the CD-ROM drive door on the V2000. Does the V5000 share this problem? Is it that big of a deal? Should I even be looking at HP/Compaq at all?
Your insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I would say celeron is not the better performer but if you are interested; the HP APP program is good for getting notebooks with good components.
