Question:
Computer with 2 external monitors (switch)?
I am trying to find a laptop which allows me to switch between to external monitors e.g. connected to VGA and DVI-I ports. I have seen docking solutions with this possibility but the supported computers have either been out of date or not stated in the technical specification list.
If anyone has a list of solutions for my matter I would be really grateful if that could be posted here.

What you are looking for is a dual head video card. Very common on desktops. Like a Unicorn on laptops. That will be tough to find. You may want to look at 17" models since they have the space for such a thing. Other than that, I am sure you can find what amounts to a splitter/switch. Or the dock option you mentioned. Good luck!

The Dell XPS M1710, i9400/E1605 has both DVI-D and VGA, not sure if you can hook a monitor up to both of them. There are no 15.4" notebooks and less with both VGA and DVI-D. Clevo's D900K (Sager NP9750, Alienware m7700) is another.
A notebook with a docking station that has DVI is another alternative. Might want to complete the FAQ so we have a better idea of what you need.

My 14" A8JM has both VGA and DVI-D, unfortunately I don't have a DVI monitor to test dual external monitors with, although the 7600 in it could theoretically handle it.
