Question:
HP nx7400 or Dell Latitude D820?
Q1) The HP nx7400 has no dedicated GPU but the Dell Latitude D820 has the option of an intergrated or dedicated one, will a dedicated GPU add to the weight and more importantly heat & noise? And is a dedicated GPU required if you're only going to play small media files and MPEG2 decoding (DVD) with absolutely no gaming or can the intergrated GPU be able to handle it without using excessive amounts of CPU?
Q2) Dell seem to include the Windows XP home media, does HP also include the Windows XP CD?
Q3) How easy/difficult is it to format the Dell Latitude D820 and do a clean install of Windows XP?
Q4) Which is lighter, cooler and quieter between the two? Usage will be 70% browser, 10% spreadsheet, 10% email client, 10% notepad
Q5) Do both have matte screens?
Q6) Will a faster CPU, e.g. 2.16Ghz on the Dell compared to the 1.83Ghz on the HP produce more heat & noise? Or will it be quieter and cooler most of the time as it's less likely to reach 100% CPU usage and hence the fan won't come on as likely as the 1.83Ghz (if you understand what I mean)
TIA

Re: HP nx7400 or Dell Latitude D820?
A dedicated card won't effect those things.
The HP probably allows you to burn off the recovery CDs.
Latitudes don't come with much bloatware so I don't think a reformat will be necessary.
I suspect they will be about the same.
The Dell is matte, the HP offers both.
I doubt you'll notice a difference between the CPUs.
