Question:
Build Quality, Size, Dedicated video - a challenge?
. . . so I recently purchased a Dell D820 and was very disappointed by the build quailty. I use a Lenovo/IBM T43 for work and there really is no comparison. The IBM is way more solid and the Dell is on it's way back. Here's what I want:
approximately a 14.1 in WXGA+ screen. The 15.4 was simply bigger than I need. I like to take the notebook to coffee shops and it just seemed huge to me. I don't care how much it weighs, as long as it is build is solid.
I hear HP makes some good notebooks. And I know IBM does--I'm just not finding dedicated video memory on the z61t.
So where can I find a 14.1 WXGA+, core duol 1.8 min (or equivalent), 128 mb decicated video, and at least a gig of ram all built into a rock solid case?
Price is not a huge concern.

Check out Thinkpad T60. Dedicated graphics options are X1300, X1400, and FireGL.

other than the dell d620, the only other notebook with wxga+ and dedicated gpu would be the hp nc6400. if standard aspect ratio is okay, then the t60 previously mentioned would fit the bill.

Yes, HP NC6400 does have an option for dedicated graphics (though just an ATI x1300) and has great build quality.
