4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk? Take is places.
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games? Maybe World Of Warcraft, F.E.A.R, Prey, Warcraft 3, Upcoming FPS's(Hellgate: London).
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? I find Toshiba laptops to be sort of... ugly I guess.

12) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen? Really don't mind, glossy is nice though.
Build Quality and Design
13) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you? Yeah, don't want a laptop that I think is ugly(aka copper color, pink).
14) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last? I have no clue, whenever I find a good one I like. I'd like it to last 2+ Years.
Notebook Components
15) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 120GB? 60-100 works fine.
16) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD-ROM, DVD-CD/RW or DVD-RW drive? Yeah. DVD-CD/RW
Extra: I also would like a laptop that won't get too hot. Thanks for any advice, or suggestions you may have.

Re: Gaming Laptop?
Not too many standard gaming notebooks. The Asus Z96j is WSXGA+ which is the wide version of SXGA+. Might also want to consider the HP nc8430 which will be a little more sturdy, but has a matte screen. Good Luck.

Hrm, I just looked at a few laptops that are widescreen, 3 were 1680x1050. I shoulda looked at all the sizes before, and didn't think there weren't many gaming laptops standard size.. :o I'm gonna edit that.

Re: Gaming Laptop?
The S96J, surely, or the Z96J, but performance is a little bit less due to the higher res screen.

Re: Gaming Laptop?
The Compal HEL80 is another choice and has more features than the Z96J, but has less video performance.

Check out the Sager 5760. Find it here:

Good luck and happy computing!
Edit: Sorry just noticed that you want a 15". Some of the other recommendations such as the HPNC8430 and Compal Hel80 are good choices in the 15" range.

Re: Gaming Laptop?
i'll also recommend the z96j. i would recommend the compal hel80, but i think the x1600 will give you a bit more performance, and it comes in glossy. you can always turn down the resolution to play games, so don't worry about that. with my hel80 at least (native 1650x1050, playing oblivion scaled down), the picture is pretty well indistinguishable from a native 1280x800.

Hey I was looking at the Sager NP 5320, which Chaz has. I really like the design and everything, and I saw some reviews on google about it being around $1,900. I think that would be a great one for me, but I can't find any sites to buy it... They keep saying their out of stock, etc.. Does anyone know where I can customize it and check the price?

Re: Gaming Laptop?
I don't think they sell the 5320 anymore but I could be wrong. It is not even listed on the Sager site (www.sagernotebook.com).

The NP5320 is no longer available; it was gone several months ago. Sager unfortunately has no plans to replace it with another 15.4" gaming notebook.
The Asus Z96J will give you considerably better performance with the Core Duo and X1600.
