I'm pretty much gearing towards the Dell Inspiron e1505 or 6400 here in Canada. I'm torn about the graphics card though. Anyone have any insight on the difference i would recieve from spending the extra 50 dollars to get the Nvidia? or should i stick to the ATI x1400? I would like to upgrade to Vista in 2007 and get to use it to its full potential.

Re: CDN buying here!
Well, your budget is a bit tight for what you want to do - finding a high resolution screen will limit your selection to the Dell E1505. I'd say you're set on the Dell.
If you are willing to give up the higher-res screen, you could try the Acer Aspire 5672, but I would only recommend it IF you can find the updated version with the Radeon X1600 128MB, which is vastly superior to the X1400 in the Dell.

Re: CDN buying here!
The two options that come with the 6400 are
15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife™
15.4 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife™
is it worth it to upgrade the screen to a SXGA+? what difference would i notice? also, its a $100 upgrade! :S

Re: CDN buying here!
aznkid, I have a Dell e1505 / 6400 that is going back to Dell at the end of the week. I am also in Canada.
It cost me $1550 but when I called Dell to set up the return they offered me $250 back if I sold the laptop myself. In order to avoid the shipping costs I have been pimping it on here, all I want is my money back so I am passing on the $250 it anyone interested.
