Which laptop shoul I choose?
Programs intended to be used on it will be: Microsoft Office 2003, ACAD 2004-2007, 3D Max vers 5-8

My mom owns a IBM X31 for 3 years now and she hasn't had a single problem with it yet. It very light and it's video options was considered exellent 3 years ago. But 2 this day, it's still a fast computer still able to compete with notebooks today.

ThinkPad X31 seems like the better choice.

The sony is nicer from a designers perspective, but the IBM is a smarter choice.
