Did I get shafted on Ebay?
I have a dell 6400 in my clutches but after reading on here I figured that the x1400 wouldn't be enough for my needs. Dell was good about taking it back, even offered me $250 credit on my card to sell it for them.
I purchased an e1705 with the Nvidia 7900 on ebay. With the inflated shipping and the such it came out to $1400. That was monday!!! Dude has yet to confirm to me that it was shipped.
He emailed me yesterday and said "I sent someone to ship it USPS"...Someone??? No tracking number???? This is the guy tha made me jump through hoops to statisfy his security concerns (I had to photograph my license and send it to him) after I paid him!!!!
I guess I should start with the paypal paper work.....

Please tell us you checked his feedback before buying from him.
From what you described...it definitely sounds shady. If he won't give you tracking information, file with paypal and/or your credit card company to get the ball rolling on a chargeback.
Hopefully you didn't use paypal funds...because in my experiences paypal funds don't get recovered.

Used a credit card through paypal and yes his feedback was steller...208 @ 100% and he had sold a few laptops too...
Either the guy is a jerk or he is a weasel....Tomorrow I call visa and paypal...

I know you said he had sold a few laptops in the past, but did you check all the items on his history?
If a large portion of them are very cheap items, he may have built up his reputation selling paper clips before moving on to scams. The laptops could be friends of his or even him using a different account. But if it seems to be in order you may want to give him a chance to pull through...

Sounds like his account could have been hacked... If he had 208 feedback @ 100% the seems very unlikely. Just file a claim with Paypal and If you paid through a credit card file one with your CC company.

File charge back with you credit card company. Your chances of getting your money back is quite good.

I would also file a report/lodge a complaint with eBay as well as PayPal to see if this guy's account was really hijacked and possibly find and recover your funds.
