Question:
difference in build quality?
Hey, so I have to get a laptop for law school in the next week or so.. I have been actively watching deals for a few brands. By far the most important factor to me is build quality and reliability of the notebook.. the impression I get is that Lenovo is best and Dell's Latitudes are pretty good.. are there any other brands that I should watch for who have comparable quality?

Apple. Definatelty.
yes that used to be true, but not anymore... hp are usually rock solid, IBM probably is the most reliable, toshiba tecra m5 series is also a great choice.
i dunno about dell, but i'd stay away from them if i can, the only thing that appeal to me from them is the opportunity to configure wide range of parts.
the latitude series should be solidly built though.

Re: difference in build quality?
Alot of brands have their high end line, and their low end.
Dell - Latitudes, then the Inspirons(not all)
Toshiba - Qousmio/Tecra, then Satellite
HP - NC-series, then DV-series
...etc. etc.
