just wondering what all of you blessed tech-smart people think of this laptop i was thinking about... i have been reading through many of these threads, and the only thing that makes me think twice about it is that it doesnt say it has the Intel Duo Core.. is this bad? whats the large difference between the Turion and Intel Duo Core? and is the price right? would a 100GB HD be better, just to be safe? thanks!! (i dont plan on gaming much, mostly music, word, internet, picture storage, powerpiont etc.)

Well, basically the system you have listed here is the HP DV5000z series which has the AMD Turion processor. As of now it is not dual core though HP will probably soon offer the new Turion X2 processor. The one you show from Costco is an Intel Core Duo and it has Windows Media Center. All in all I would say that the one from Costco is the better deal but that said I think the one with the AMD Turion would suit your needs fine based on what you say you will be using it for. I have never used Windows Media Center but I have heard people really like it. Basically, from what I understand it is kind of like TIVO, where you can record shows and such on it easily. It still has the same basic features as Windows Home does so you could still do your office tasks and so forth with no problem. Windows Media Center is definitely an upgrade and a good feature to have from what I know.
