ATI x1600 13" laptop

Question:
ATI x1600 13" laptop
I'm looking for a laptop that is small under 12" to 13", not 14" or larger. I also want a laptop that has the ATI x1600 card. I saw that ASUS makes the W3J models which have an x1600, but a 14" screen. ASUS also makes the 13" W7J, but has only a Nvidia 7400 Go. I also saw the Dell M1210 with a 12" screen and an Nvidia 7400 Go.
Does any laptop manufacturer have plans to sell 12-13" laptops with an x1600? Offcourse, I'm only interested in dual core processors like the Turion X2 and Intel Duo.

Nope, not gonna happen any time soon, unless its underclocked. The smaller the laptop, the less ventulation and smaller the heat dissapation system, so the more powerful the GPU, obviously the more heat generated.

Re: ATI x1600 13" laptop
Only a few laptops hit the "sweet spot" between of portability and graphics power. The 13.3" Sony SZ is one: at 3.7 lbs, it's the lightest laptop with a Go7400/X1400. The 14.1" Asus W3J, at 5.0 lbs with the traveller's drawer, is the lightest one with a 7600/X1600.
Both of those are quite pricey. If budget is a variable too, then the sweet spot shifts again: Compal HGL30 (5.4 lbs, Go7600, less than $1400).

It doesnt exist. The best you can do in a 13" as others have said is a Geforce 7400 or a ATI X1400. You're looking at 3DMark05 scores around 2000 for that, compared to 3500-4000 for the 7600 or X1600.

Won't find one as stated - you're asking for too much. X1400/Go7400 are pretty powerful. Be prepared to move to 14" if you want a better card.

Anywho, to stay on topic. Like everyone has said, the cooling you will get in a small model like the 13" won't be sufficient for the x1600/7600 gpus. Why is it that a 14" won't suit your needs? 14" is still a very small laptop, and the increase in graphics processing power is about 100% between the x1400 and x1600.

13.3 with X1600 = I thought that was hilarious.
Yes, for the same reason you can't get a top-end GPU in a 15.4", you can't get a high-end card in a small thin-and-light system. The cooling system allowed in smaller chassis don't allow for more powerful GPUs which will run hotter than less powerful GPUs.
If it must be 13", then you will have to go with the x1400 and go 7400. They're not rubbish.

Re: ATI x1600 13" laptop
I actually had some questions along the same lines.
Looking for a 14" or so. I want to game on it, so does the W3J pretty much win hands down, anything else i should look at?
Also does stepping up into a 15" get you any better options with a 1600 or above video card?
Thanks
