Question:
Fastest GPU in a 15.4" or smaller notebook?
I actually just ordered last week a np5760 from Sager, but I would just like to know what the best GPU possible to buy in a 15.4" laptop or smaller? (just incase i get my 5760 and feel its just too big)
So far the best ive seen is a few notebooks with the x1600, is there anything better than that GPU in a 15.4" or smaller?

That is correct either an x1600 or go 7400/7600 by nvidia

Well in that case, even though I havent received my notebook yet I have a feeling that the 5760 is gonna be big, how big are 17" laptops? Are they still "portable" in the sense that I could bring it to a coffee house and use it on a couch, or are they too big and heavy for that?

They are rather large. I suggest you go to a COMP USA and take a look at their 17" models. Size would be somewhat comparable.

Seeing a 17" notebook in a store would be a good idea. The NP5760 is a fairly slim 17", and I don't think it will be that difficult to carry. I didn't really have any gripes about carrying the last 17" notebook I tested, and I normally use a 15.4". Make sure you get a bag with good shoulder support or a backpack, and you'll be fine.

It's really a matter of personal preference... I know, lousy answer. Some think anything over 5 pounds is too big, whereas others haul around those massive 13+ pound Sager 9890/9750 monsters without any trouble. My experience with my 5720 (same dimensions/weight as 5760) led to the conclusion that such a machine IS too big for daily travel. However, if you're 6'5", 250 lbs. of muscle, lugging around a 17" machine may be child's play to you.

Im fairly certain atm its the 512 mb 7600 in the asus a8jm.

Isn't the fastest GPU in a 15.4" the 6800 Ultra? But then it would be X1600 then not far behind the Nvidia 7600, then the X700 then X1400/7400 etc. You get the picture. :p
@ Stamer... that is correct the 512MB 7600 is in the A8jm.

7600? I would have assumed that 7900 was better, since it's like..a higher number? I don't know much about computers.
