Dell 700m or Asus M5N

Question:
Dell 700m or Asus M5N
Hi, I am having a tough time choosing between these 2. I want a light-weight laptop so I can carry it around to school. I mainly use it for internet, word files, some DVD watching and very little (to none) gaming. I kinda like 700m's WXGA but M5N got better battery life (?).
So, any comments would be welcome. Thanks.[:)]
Answer: If you're not going to be gaming, I'd say that the Dell would seem to be the better choice.
In terms of battery life... the M5N won't be much better; in fact, both laptops won't have that great of a battery life unless you purchase the longer lasting battery...
ASUS M6800Ne, P-M 1.5 Dothan, 512MB Ram, ASUS Combo drive, Samsung Spinpoint M 40G HDD with 8M cache, Mobility Radeon 9700
Answer: Both are well spec'd machines, I think the ASUS is a much nicer looking notebook, and maybe better built, Dell has been taking a bit of stick lately for poor quality (and customer service). Although the WXGA screen on the Dell will be better for DVDs. Also M5N does have the disadvantage of taking micro SODIMM memory, im not sure it the dell does or not, but this type of memory is a bit harder to get hold of and is also more expensive compared to normal sodimm. AuroraS is correct, you will have to buy or config the M5N with a higher capacity battery, these will protrude out abit from the back of the notebook.
Thus my advice is to go for the cheaper of the two !

ASUS M6Ne 15.4" WSXGA 1.7 PM ATI9700 80Gb HDD 512Mb RAM
Answer: If I want to play Sims 2, which would be better? I don't really do much gaming, but kind of want the option. How about the asus m6bne?
Answer: Depending on budget, I'd steer you to the Fujitsu S series. The older S6210/20 can be found for around $1300.

Answer: But both of those fujitsu notebooks have the same chipset for the graphics. Wouldn't it be about the same?
Answer: The difference is the processor, but yes, performance would be roughly the same.
