64 bit or Duo???

Question:
64 bit or Duo???
What would be a better choice for a laptop for the future. The duos appear to be in the majority of laptops yet they are not 64bit. The Turions are there but also come with sub-par GPUs.
What would be the better choice? Or would waiting be best since AMD bought out ATI and we could be expecting great combos of GPU and CPU?

Re: 64 bit or Duo???
Well, if you can wait a couple of months... notebooks with CoreDuo2 (Merom) - 64 bits should be coming out .... In any case... it seems that for the notebook segment, Intel's offerings still give better value in terms of performance and battery life...

Also, merom will be the same price as core duo and should be better architecturally.

Re: 64 bit or Duo???
right.. if you can wait, get the Intel Core 2 Duo (64bit)
or, if you can't wait - get the Intel Core Duo (32bit) and upgrade in half a year or so - it's not really an issue until enough applications (such as windows vista, which is scheduled for 2007) that support 64bit have been released
