Question:
Final two! A8Jm or W7J???
Ok guys... between these two, which one would you pick?
I can see the advantage of the W7J is it's size while the A8Jm advantage is it's larger screen and slightly better graphics card (7600 vs 7400)
I'm mainly getting a new notebook to last me the next 3-4 years of law school. My old T30 w/ it's USB 1.0 just isn't going to cut it :(
I'll be using this laptop daily for approx 4-6 hrs a day. Use it in class for notes. Use it after class for research/papers. Use it daily to edit photos, listen to music, webcam, and surf the net. If possible, I'd like to also learn how to video edit with this computer. I have tons of tape laying around but have never tried digital editing.
Given these facts, which one do you think would be best for me?:confused: :confused: :confused:

I was stuck in the exact same descision, and I got.......a Sony FJ. Dont do what I did.
I think the W7J would be better for you becuase it doesnt seem like you are going to use the extra graphics prowess of the A8Jm. If you are a gamer though, and plan on playing newer games, then go with the A8Jm, but I would go witht eh W7J becasue it is smaler, and the GPU is powerful enough.
Also, the W7J is made of better materials (carbon fiber, vs. plastic)

Unfortunately, I don't have time to play games. With work and law school, I'm pretty much gonna be running on fumes for the next few years.

Well, if you don't really need the GPU, then I'd say the W7J... since you can also get a bigger battery for it if you want...

Well, my dad had the $$, and he has a huge brand loyalty thing for Sony (two Sony laptops, a Sony 19" moniter, Sony surround sound, Sony dvd players, Sony VCR, a few Sony TVs, gonna buy a Sony digicam soon) and he was like no, buy a Sony or a Dell, and wouldnet consider anythng else. I thought about the SZ then, but he said that was too expensive, so I went with the FJ when it came on sale at Best Buy. I got it for just over $1000 so it was a good deal (for a Sony).
If you arent gonna play any games, then W7J all the way.

$1000 is pretty good for the Sony. Congrats on your purchase.
I just noticed that the A8Jm does not come with bluetooth while the W7J does. Also, the camera seems to be way better on the W7J.

If you're not going to be playing games, I'd advise you to go for the lighter machine.
I wouldn't even consider these machines as they are pretty powerful in terms of graphical capability. (Which is primarily useful for games.)
