........ about $1600
2) What size notebook would you prefer?
c. Mainstream; 15" - 16" screen
3) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
....... Software development using Visual Studio 2005, SQL Server and ASP etc. And also some above average gaming.
4) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
...... yes will be moving the system quite frequently
5) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
... yes lot of games. like FEAR, Splinter cell, Far Cry, AOE 3, Doom and stuff like that.
6) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
......... Not that specific but i'd prefer Dell, HP, Sony, Toshiba...
7) How many hours of battery life do you need?
..... 3 to 4
8) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?

1. Dell XPS Gen2, 2 GHz CPU, 256MB Go6800 Ultra
2. Acer 9112WLM, 1.66 GHz Dual core, 256MB TurboCache Go7600
3. Toshiba P100, 2 GHz Dual core, 256MB dedicated Go7600

NC8430 and HEL80 would be better choices,
