9-pin serial ports

Question:
9-pin serial ports
Is anyone aware of any makers currently offering a 15.4" or bigger laptop with a 9-pin serial port? I'm having a tough time finding one. Unfortunately, due to the age of the software I have to use to talk to airplane boxes, a USB-to-9-pin adapter will not work.

Re: 9-pin serial ports
Did you try a PCMCIA card ? its called RS 232 and will give you a legit serial port which would be cheaper and easier then buying a notebook base on a serial port .
From what I understood the diff is that this card port creates a real port with a com/irq address , it worked for me anyway so you might wanna give it a try .
Hope it helps .
EDIT : I was gonna suggest you buy mine because I might not need it soon but they are so cheap now at Ebay you don't need used one :

Re: 9-pin serial ports
I just bought a 15.4" Precision M65 off Dell Outlet, and it does have a 9-pin serial port. The M65 is quite expensive new, but the one I got from Outlet has very good specs and was $1059 before tax. The chassis has a chunk of plastic gouged out of it, but Dell, I'm told, is going to send a replacement with the same specs. Anyway, it's a nice machine, though the Quadro 350M GPU is somewhat limiting.
