hmm... ibm warranty ranks well, but im not sure if its onsite international... asus has internatoinal warranty, but i think tahts only send in...
i would recommend you to get asus a6ja, a8ja, or w3j if you want a mainstream sized one 14 to 15 inches...
17 inches, go for the toshiba qosmio, or have a look at hp... they have a couple of relaly impressive 17 inches...
other than that, ibm and fujitsu are good brands, although they lack the newest video cards so ya... cant game too heavily..
but ya, those asus and that toshiba will do your gaming, as well as everything else, very well...
if youre goign to carry it around a lot, i seroisly recommend you to consider the a8jm and w3j (asus) - they are 14 inches, and travel friendly... 17 inch lappies are not that travel friendly eh, seriously

For size and power you may want to check out a Sager. They aren't highly portable because of the power they take. I used to have a Sager, and it was a fantastic gaming machine until it got stolen. Bought it from powernotebooks.com.
I don't really know about the service for repair because I never had any issues with it.
