The IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T60 would be a near-perfect match if it weren't for its matte screen. Build quality just can't get any better in a laptop.
For glossy, a fully-loaded HP dv2000 will be a good choice and still quite portable at 5.3 pounds.
Also consider the Sager NP5460 and the Compal HEL81, both with glossy screens. They are a little pricier and bulkier than the HP, but better built.
