HP Pavilion DV4000 CTO!

Question:
HP Pavilion DV4000 CTO!
Hi everyone, its my first post here & I am really lucky to have found this place.
I am on the verge of buying a new notebook, but I need some help. I got an absolutely awesome deal in bestbuy.com for a HP Pavilion DV4000 CTO. The price is really tempting, but the problem is that no information on this particular model is available anywhere!! I tried on the HP site but the model has been discontinued & there is absolutely 0 info on the machine. I managed to get some minor information on the DV4000's in general, but I need info on the HP Pavilion DV4000 CTO in particular. Please help me out here. I need the laptop as soon as possible. Any opinions will be appreciated. I do play games on & off. Do you think that the machine will be able to handle a game like Need for Speed Most Wanted with all the graphics options maxed out??
Cheers & thanks in advance for any help fellas,
WD.

welll idk about games unless the res is low... I am on it now with wireless and it works great so the wireless is fine and everything is good as far as a usuability but performance wise it isnt the best the intergrated graphics are not good at all so if u can get some nvidia or a ati card somehow then the system should be good to go with good games...the time for superpi is usually low i mean im usin a celoron 1.4 Ghz and it takes like 2 mins 20secs and even with e pentium its still pretty long ...I use adobe and alot of video/photo editing software and other then the lag at start-up and when applying a filter in adobe its fine so i'd say try to find a good graphics card and then get at least 1Gb of ram and then go with a good motherboard that could support a dual-core processor and you would be good to go

Thanks mate!! I think it comes with the 128MB X700. I am definately getting 1GB of RAM. Does the DV4000 CTO come with the option of having a dual core processor or is there a standard issue processor with the CTO???

well i think you can only go with a solo processor b/c of the mobo and the fact that the dv4000 is discontinued so then i doubt there is anyway to get a dual core ...but on a good note, you can get the dv4000 with a really good solo processor (such as a pentium at a core clock speed of around 2ghz) another awsome thing about this laptop is that u can change a replace so much stuff on your own i mean even tho the motherboard caps all the speeds of the ram and processor you can still get really good ram and alot of it too i beleive you can get up to 2gigs of dual-channel and then added with a pentium and a 5400rpm 80gb Hd will make the system pretty good for doing alot of things and even gaming! (i wish u got the card your getting but im stuck with a intel intergrated card so i cant game very well...i tried fear and it crashed all the time even tho that was expected so bottom line is that i think your system will be very good in terms of performance if you max out your system

Thanks so much for the help mate!!
But I have decided to go for either the dell Inspiron E1505 or the HP Pavilion DV6000Z.
