Compaq Presario V3015NR?

Question:
Compaq Presario V3015NR?
I want to buy this laptop and would like some feedback/reviews. First of all, is Compaq laptops reliable in general? I have never owned a compaq before...the only one with a bad reputation I have heard over and over is Dell.
Also, is there any known problem with this specific Compaq Presario V3015NR laptop?
And, how is Compaq customer service? If I have a technical support issue, will they provide good service? I have heard some complaints about Lenovo tech support, how about Compaq?
Would like to purchase this laptop asap...please response soon.
Thanks!

On the top right of the page is a search bar - put in Compaq V3000 and you should get some information. From what I gathered on the forums, the V3000 series is a solid notebook with a good keyboard and screen. Take a look at our HP/Compaq forum for other information.

Re: Compaq Presario V3015NR?
I just purchased the compaq presario v3015nr and I LOVE IT!! I haven't had it long enough to evaluate longevity, or overall durability...but the features are AWESOME and I love how easy it is to get around it quickly. I'm sure you've read all the specs, so I won't waste time posting them. I purchased this after looking at, AT LEAST 50 or more different notebooks from SEVERAL different brands and while I'm sure that there are better notebooks if I wanted to spend well over a grand....but, I chose this one because it totalled only about $800 dollars at bestbuy and had some of the same and even some BETTER specs than some of the much higher dollar options. I ultimately decided on this because of the perfect size, the large keyboard, as well as the great media features such as graphics, SOUND, great screen, one touch, quickplay media keys, etc. I also purchased it because it boasts the (what i believe) GREAT athlon 64 x2 processor. I am also pretty impressed with the dvd-rw/cd-rw that INCLUDES lightscribe!!!! Over a gig of memory, too!!! I deal with a lot of traveldrives like memory cards and such...and this has a 4 in 1 media reader!!!!! It is a fast, cool, stylish, VERY LIGHT, easy to use, versatile PC that I even chose over the HP because it has more upgradable features. The onllly upset THUS far is the fact that the design allows you to see greasy fingerprints (but the pc includes a polish cloth) and the way that a few of the laptop's insides are INTEGRATED whiccchh doesn't allow me to upgrade certain aspects of it. BUTTT for the price and quality...I am VERY impressed and VERY happy..so I suggest it. OH...and my last notebook was a DELL inspiron 1200...and in disagreement with the comment of you hearing bad things about them...I LOVED it as well. I only purchased this new notebook because it is easier to travel with. My Dell was EASILY upgradable with several parts found on ebay...etc..for VERY cheap. It was veryy durable as well. Sorry for the length of this...but I give the compaq 2 thumbs up!!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback!
One question....what do you all think when comparing this Compaq to HP DV5215US? It seems like this HP model may be a bit better in specs, yet, with mail-in rebate from Circuit City it would cost me less! What I don't understand is why would a notebook with all of these specs cost me less....should I apply the old saying: you get what you paid for???????
